How to Insert Table of Contents automatically on WordPress?
I like to show the contents to users with best navigation. That is why looking for the best tool which automatically insert table of contents on the WordPress post.

What is Table of Content?
You can ask me what is table of content?. It is the organized content which show what you are going to describe in the article or post. Short form of Table of Content is TOC.
Do you think it is important?
Yes, the user can easily navigate to the content which they looking for by clicking to the table of content.
How to add it to the post?
It is very simple, we can add this using WordPress Plugin. You can add it to your site. I have added the link below for reference
Plugin Configuration
Once the Plugin is installed. Activate the plugin under the “Installed Plugins”.
Navigate to Settings –> Table of Contents and customize the details as per the screenshot.
Where do you want this TOC?
In which area the TOC to be added, example Post, Pages, Custom CSS, etc.
Will it be added Automatically?
Yes, if we select auto option in the setting. It will generate automatically.
Where do place TOC?
You may have a question, Where should I keep this?. I’d recommend at the Top for better navigation. For this, select option ” Before First heading (default)”
When you want to show TOC?
If your post having more than 3 Headings or 4 or so on. Whatever you want, number need to updated on “Show when” Option. There are plenty of customization available on this to adjust “Label Name” , “Hierarchy”, etc.
How to change the style of TOC?
If you have a thought, My site has different colored theme and I want to change the appearance and style. Here is the part you can customize it.
How to Customize TOC only for specific Heading?
Do you want TOC to be added only if I have the “H2” Heading. Then deselect other heading on the “Advanced” Option.
All the customization are mostly done. If you need any other like Anchor prefix, Limit Path, can be added on advance setting. Finally don’t forget to hit “Save Changes”.
Table of Content will appear on the articles as you see in the top of this post.
